Okay so I have hit a total weight loss stall. Let me give a little backround information. In May 2005, I started working out, I began at 200 pounds. I lost 55 pounds by December 2005. January 2006 I became pregnant. So you can guess what happened, I gained it all back. But not in the same way, because of course I was physically fit for this pregnancy. I had my daughter October 28th, my third baby. I ended up with an emergency c-section. Which threw my fitness plan for a loop. So I was cleared to work out the last week of December. I started with pilates twice a week and the gym 3 days a week. I saw amazing results quickly. Now I have hit a complete stall. I haven't lost any weight in 3 weeks. I workout 5 to 6 days a week. I do 30 to 45 minutes of cardio. Plus weight training every other workout out day. I haven't really limited my calorie intake, but I am very true to portion. I don't eat above portion sizes. I eat breakfast, lunch and dinner. Couple small snacks in between. I would say roughly 2000 calories a day. I drink tons of water. I am so bummed, I work so hard I just want to see some progress.

You've hit a plateau but you'll start losing again. Try changing up your workouts for example instead of the same workout every day do one day of cardio and the next weight training or strength training change it up a notch and try to cut back a little on your calories maybe 100 less per day.
1honeysugar28 said every single thing I was going to say.
Try not to get discouraged by the stall. It's temporary and happens to everyone.
2drink lots, of water . that helped me loose wait lol
3yeeap. im the same here. i think you need to vary your exercises, small changes to the routine makes a world of difference. i WOULD recommend an exercise ball, its great!
4My sister who has to watch her weight a little bit. Told me that Weight Watchers said to her, you'll reach a platue, but keep doing what your doing..everyone's plateau time is different..it could be weeks or even months. But, if you keep up the good work and don't get discouraged you'll lose more weight..you just have to wait for the next weight loss period. When, it happens you'll lose a lot of weight again. Then, you'll plateau out again. This is normal so, just keep doing what your doing. I'm trying to gain weight, and my sister said, it's probably the same thing for that situation too. Good luck, and don't get discouraged.
5cool! thanks for the info BB! it makes me feel better, i've been banging myself up inside at the lack of weight loss!
6I agree with honeysugar28! maybe switch up your cardio routines (if you aren't already!) - one day you can try swimming, the next day you can try spinning. It sounds like you are doing great though! Stick with it and you'll get past it! don't get discouraged
7You all are so smart and give such good advice.
Plateaus can be big bummer, but you are doing the right things. A couple of times a week, I would up the cardio a bit - add interval training to it or lengthen the amount of time. Adding time to a work out can be hard to do with little ones about but just try adding 15 - 20 minutes a week and see where that gets you.
Remember 3500 calories = a pound of fat. So increase the amount of calories burned and decrease the calories consumed by just a bit. Don't over do the dieting part, especially if you are breast feeding. Kids can make you cranky and so can dieting, so be cautious with that.
Congrats on being a mother of three!!!! And just keep sticking with it.
8Thanks so much for all the great advice and support. I have started a HIIT program 3 days a week and I have a more strict & intense weight program for the other three days. I'm also cutting my carbs by 25%. So I'm going to do this for the next 12 weeks and we will see how it goes.
9that sounds great, good luck!
