Hey gals,
I just wanted to share a message I sent to Fit on what I am dealing with recently on my weight loss. I want to get feedback from you to see what I am doing wrong and how I can break the scale just a lb. More or less this is what I am dealing with. Since March, I have been exercising 3 to 4 days a week. I will either walk a mile, elliptical for 20 mins & I take kickboxing/muay thai classes. Since I have started this routine I have stayed the same weight. I know ppl have told me to go by how your clothes fit but I have gone up a size???? seriously I have no idea what is happening. I at first thought I had hit a plateau so I started to do the kickboxing/muay thai/cardio training class so I could switch up my routine something Fit has suggested but nothing will give. This morning i broke down in tears because my pants don't fit anymore. Please help anyone with any suggestions.
Thanks

Muscle weighs more than fat. Your body is probably reconstituting itself. As you are burning fat, you are building muscle. This can cause weight gain. It is healthy though. The more muscle you have, the more fat and calories you burn. Also, with this new excercise program have you changed your eating habits as well?
1Exactly , I agree with the lady above. You need to pay more attention to your measurements or the way your clothes hang on you. You are firming up and toning. I will let you in on a secret females that have had a routine of exercising over a long period of time aren't so interested in what the scales says.If you want to lose more weight change your diet but if you want to keep it off continue exercising and eating healthy. It takes time to change habits.
2Woo hoo
, I just got called a lady!! I have to call my mother and tell her she is
wrong!
3Great Sommelier, I tried weight watchers for a month and a half. I lost a couple of lbs at first but then gained them back and have been the same, I do count calories alot & stay within the range for my body. I will tell you this my stomach I can see improvment but from my lower belly to my thighs I have measured and gained more in those areas. Nonetheless I am dragging my butt to the gym after work again. I am just tried of doing this with no results. ughhhh
4But you aren't getting "no results"!! You said you can see in your stomach! The glass is half full!

How disappointing! I would feel just like you if this was happening. I think that you are
doing good things and you need to stick with them. Just relax a little bit and for a while, don't check the scale and wear just those clothes that you know will fit and feel good to wear. You
will see results. With exercise and paying attention to your diet there is no way you will not see results eventually.
6I totally understand what you are going threw. I am in the same issue. I work out with a fitness bootcamp and I have been (cutting back) on what I eat and the scale isnt budging, it actually went up a pound or two. I got so discouraged at first because the workouts are intensed and I really push myself to go, only to not loose a pound. My first thought was giving up and just continuing to eat as I choose and no working out..-:)... But once I later came to my senses I decided to set a one month goal, for one month I would be more disciplined on my eating and focus on the workout, and not get on the scale until my designated date this way I wont get discouraged from the scale not budging fast enough and I would have to rely on the way my clothes fit to track my progress... I said ALL that..lol.. To say this keep your head up, and continue to do what your doing now...
7My first question would be how is your diet?
It sounds like the exercise sounds like it's a great mix (wish i was that good), so i'd take a look at other areas of your life that'd be my suggestion.
How's your water intake? I reatain a lot if I don't drink enough which makes me gain and become bloated.
Another thing you could do is go to the Doctor and get your bloods done, you may find you have something that's undetectable without having one e.g thyroid etc.
good luck honey and don't give up
for me if i don't see results i tend to lose drive therefore never see the results
YOU ARE DOING WELL!!!!
8I am not sure if this is the kind of thing that you are looking for but this is what has helped me. It's a website. This is 100% free. You put in how much you are trying to lose, and by when and it will tell you how many calories you would have to eat per day. It will give you a workout routine if you want one and if you don't it will tell you how many calories you would have to eat without exercise and still lose the weight. Plus it offers meal plans too. This is a website that has helped me to lose weight (34 lbs. since Jan. 08). I could have actually lost more but I have been slacking a lot.It allows you to create a blog, keep track of what you've eaten, and your fitness. Along with some other things. It is kind of set up like myspace if you are familiar with that, but it is only for weight loss. It is www.SparkPeople.com, and if you decide to do it you can tell them I sent you or stop by my page, my name there is Tryin2Lose2.
