So, I've resolved once again to try to make that healthy lifestyle change, since I've been steadily gaining over the past 2 years. My dieting roadblock is always Mexican food. Authentic, tex-mex or Taco Bell, I love it all.
So I HAVE to find a way to satisfy my cravings when trying to count calories.
My typical Moe's order:
JC Quesadilla - chicken and black beans, side of sour cream, side of chips and queso for dipping: 941 calories (and sometimes a regular Coke too, yikes!)
Today's healthier choice: Full Monty Taco- chicken, black beans, shredded cheese, lettuce and salsa. Side of chips with salsa, water: 347 calories
Ok, so I did miss the cool, creamy sour cream, but I was still totally full and satisfied! Much better!
Marks and Spencer
I like to get the Joey Bag of Donuts (without the shell), with rice, black beans, tofu, salsa, black olives, and onions. Then I put a ton more salsa on top
I think that's only a little over 300 calories. I'm not a huge fan of sour cream, I can take it or leave it. Same with the cheese!
1I love Moe's! I didn't know anyone else liked them! I usually get the Joey with steak, rice, pinto beans, mushrooms, sour cream, & cheese in the soft shell. It's so good but probably not the healthiest thing around!
2I just had Taco Bell the other night and tried their Crunchy Beef Taco Supreme fresco style. It was great. Check out their site. Lots of nutritional info on their menu. What's healthy to eat @ Moe's?
3I love to get the salads at Moe's. With grilled chicken and beans and tons of salsa, cilantro, and onions, they can be really filling.
