hey all -- i've really been enjoying all the great posts on fitsugar and the helpful tips everyone offers, and i want to throw my own into the mix.
since i started watching my food intake more carefully about 2 years ago, i've discovered and fallen in love with lean cuisine meals -- they're the only brand that to me actually tastes like GOOD FOOD, and they really help me from eating too much at lunch time.
but after a while, even as they added new combinations, i was getting soooo bored and craving something more substantial. i try now to always add something to the meal -- vegetables. it makes me really feel full without adding significant calories, and it adds some variety to the usual fare.
i work at home now, so it's easy to chop up and add a cup of broccoli (my favorite) or other veggies into the mix. but even when i was at an office, i kept a bag of frozen mixed veggies in the fridge, threw a handful in a coffee cup, covered with water and nuked them -- or just defrosted by soaking in super-hot water from the dispenser.
today's lean cuisine-plus meal: fettucini alfredo, 1 1/2 cups broccoli, a handful of chopped fresh basil, a third of a roma tomato, and fresh-ground pepper.
i'd love to hear any similar ideas you have!

i love the meatloaf and mack and cheese, the beefy mac, eggroll and rice, swedish meatballs. i have a lean cuisine and either a HUGE salad on the side or frozen veggies another trick i do is i cut up fresh cauli, cukes, baby carrots and broccoli on sunday and make a low fat veggie dip and then everyday i throw a bit of each in a zippie and nosh on that all day !
1Great ideas!

That is a totally great idea. Adding veggies is a fab way to beef up your meal without actually adding beef
hehe.
Thanks for the great advice!
3i would KILL to have lean cuisine meals here! but sadly, we dont
this sounds good to me, healthy!
4it's a great idea, but I would advise you to ask your coworkers if the smell of broccoli doesn't bother them. Some ppl don't mind but I've found that many find it really offensive.
